This customer is a leading manufacturer of hand held devices used at point of sale terminals. The challenge faced by this customer was to develop an embedded device driver for the magnetic stripe reader on Windows CE platform. The project also included the development of sample applications with user manuals. The Wipro team developed the device driver, adding features like real time battery monitoring. The tools included VC++, Windows CE toolkit for VC++ and CVS for configuration management. The platforms worked on included Windows CE and Windows NT. The customer benefited by the portable, maintainable, and extendable code for the solution ensuring time to market advantages and cost advantages.
