The HP Insight Dynamics - VSE solution introduced support for logical servers, and the 4.1 release further enhanced their capabilities. HP logical server technology further enables system administrators to create an Adaptive Infrastructure, allowing their IT environment to respond quickly to changing business needs. Logical servers are a new class of abstracted servers that allows system administrators to manage physical machines and virtual machines using the same management construct. Logical servers enable a common approach to planning, deployment, adjustment, and management, whether the server OS and workloads are hosted directly on a physical server, or on a hosted virtual machine. Logical servers are defined by server profiles that are easily created and freely moved across physical and virtual machines.
