BeanConnect V2.0: Technical Overview

With the product BeanConnect 2.0, Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers software which complies with the JCA 1.5 specification. The J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA) 1.5 is part of the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) 1.4 as well as part of the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 (Java EE 5) and defines a standard architecture for accessing resources of an Enterprise Information System (EIS). Which means: The Connector Architecture facilitates the integration of Java applications with heterogeneous EIS systems. The product BeanConnect 2.0 connects applications based on a J2EE application server to applications of the transaction systems openUTM (Fujitsu Siemens Computers) and CICS (IBM). An extension to IMS applications (IBM) is in the pipeline. This paper describes the BeanConnect 2.0 functionality and its application.
