Air Products provides industrial gases and chemicals to the energy, technology, and healthcare markets. With annual revenues of US$9 billion, Air Products employs more than 20,000 people in over 40 countries. The Air Products Messaging and Authentication group is responsible for more than 20,000 mailboxes and needs to constantly monitor its Microsoft Exchange Server environment to ensure optimum uptime. This task is complicated by the number of operational groups involved in server set-up and maintenance. After a discussion with their TAM, Air Products decided to implement Microsoft Services Desired Configuration Monitoring (DCM) for Messaging. When the product went online in June 2006, Air Products was in the midst of upgrading to Exchange Server 2003.
