According to the Gartner Group, more than 70% of the Information Technology budget in today's enterprises is destined to maintenance. The IT (Information Technology) infrastructure in schools is not different. Deployment, management and performance are the main problems. It addresses the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) with a model proposition to support the evolution of the IT infrastructure for education based on Gartner's Infrastructure Maturity Model. It defines four evolution stages: Basic, Standardized, Rationalized and Dynamic. It introduces an extending level to address a common scenario in education, which can be defined as the Chaos Level. In this level, there is no network or management policies, and limited access to the Internet.
