In an effort to provide guidance on how to proactively protect the customer account data involved when processing credit card transactions, major credit card companies formed an independent organization and issued the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Originally devised by Visa, the goal of the PCI DSS is to protect financial and customer account data on today's systems by providing a framework that includes specific security and audit actions, along with guidance on how to implement them. The HP Compliance Log Warehouse is designed to aggregate, correlate, and report on all of this seemingly unrelated activity to PCI DSS compliance team.
