Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Company Limited (DSME) successfully realized a more transparent management system by introducing SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) into its operations. With this introduction, the global shipbuilding company strengthens competitiveness through continuous Process Innovation (PI) activities. Recently, it upgraded the existing SAP ERP system, establishing an even more advanced infrastructure which resulted in stronger corporate competitiveness and productivity. In particular, the comprehensive infrastructure improvement processes were applied to SAP Business Warehouse (BW), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), groupware and legacy systems as well as SAP ERP. State-of-the-art information technology was applied, such as HP Integrity Superdome Servers running HP-UX 11i v3, to establish a sophisticated HP Virtual Server Environment with virtualization capabilities.
