The Management Information Systems (MIS) support team at the University were tasked with finding a system that could not only route user access to the student records system (CamSIS) through multiple front-end web servers, but also provide load balancing resilience to support the new system. After researching possible options, three vendors were selected for closer investigation. Two of these were appliance-based solutions, and the third was Zeus' offering, the only pure software solution available. After using a 30-day trial version, the MIS team chose ZXTM (Zeus ExtensibleTraffic Manager) for its ease of installation and intuitive use. ZXTM manages an organization's application traffic: inspecting, transforming and routing requests as it load-balances them across the application infrastructure.
