Universal American Financial Corp. (UAFC) is a specialty health and life insurance holding company headquartered in Rye Brook, N.Y. To meet CMS deadlines, UAFC's Part D plans-referred to collectively as Prescription Pathway-would need to be operational in late 2005. The challenges that lay ahead were considerable. The company deployed Facets platform, the leading core administration system for healthcare payers which automates a wide range of administrative activities and drives efficiencies - enterprise-wide.
