The world of card processing has been undergoing a rapid change in recent years. The development of new standards and security needs has put a great deal of pressure on some of the legacy Card Management Systems (CMS) currently in use. This, and the new focus on back-to-basics banking, has moved these systems towards the top of the agenda for many banks. Card Management Systems (CMS) are essentially the core systems for credit and debit card processing. It was an area of the banking industry that remained unchanged for many years, but the proliferation of new card technologies has driven the development of new systems.
