PT Asuransi Allianz Utama Indonesia (Allianz Utama) is a subsidiary of Allianz Group, a global insurance company. Headquartered in Jakarta, Allianz Utama wanted to improve its disaster response in case IT staff members could not physically shut down servers that support business processes at the main office and its seven branches. Allianz Utama used Windows Mobile 6 to establish a mobile command center so IT staff could remotely shut down the servers and replicate critical resources. By using Windows Mobile devices, Allianz Utama now has a business continuity plan that includes disaster notification to 150 employees who work at the head office, that manages emergency response tasks, and that facilitates the recovery of business processes.
