In summary, an effective identity & access management strategy will include all 3 pillars mentioned above and each component of the overarching solution should be able to integrate with all (or at least most) of the technologies within one's environment. Does each component have to come from a single vendor, absolutely not, but there are benefits to all-encompassing suites. What is best for one's specific environment will depend on a number of factors that should be pre-determined before a solution is selected.
