Oracle Database 10g supports creating web services for Rules Manager operations using PL/SQL packages, procedures and functions. Web services can be created for Rules Manager runtime operations to receive events and for the rule actions that are invoked when the rules evaluate to true for the events. Web services that receive events can trigger rule actions executed in Oracle Database and/or return the list of rules that evaluated to true to the application for post-processing (such as executing action). This paper provides an overview of the steps and sample code for implementing Rules Manager runtime web services.
