PT Asuransi Sinar Mas (the Company) is one of the major industry leaders in the insurance sector in Indonesia. The Company prides itself with its commitment to customer satisfaction which it carries out through a business strategy that is supported by a strong IT infrastructure. Over the last two years, the Company's business has undergone an explosive growth evidenced by the doubling in the number of its customers. The increase in customer numbers translated to more financial transaction processes being handled by its data center. The Company required a more robust server architecture to handle the growing business and decided upon implementing Intel Itanium processor-based servers to handle the increasing business demands.
