Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is one of the nation's preeminent academic medical centers, with almost 900 inpatient beds and dozens of clinics. With more computers used as part of patient care delivery each year, the IT team looked for ways to improve PC management and reduce downtime. The university is constantly striving to use advanced technology to improve the delivery of services. To help meet those goals, the medical center's Intel representative introduced the IT staff to Intel vPro technology, and the IT team invited Intel to conduct an on-site assessment of the potential benefits. The IT team has deployed nearly 500 Dell OptiPlex 755 desktop computers with Intel vPro technology to date, and will deploy about 1,000 more this fiscal year.
