The University of British Columbia - one of Canada's largest universities - is a sprawling campus with thousands of users and numerous departments, operating systems, servers and desktops. When the university experienced an increase in the volume and complexity of converged spam and virus threats, the search for an IT security solution that fitted UBC's unique requirements became a top priority. Framed around UBC's IT roadmap and E-Strategy, the team began their search. After 19 proposals and 14 extensive vendor evaluations, the University of British Columbia selected Sophos. Among the many criteria, Sophos was selected for its ability to seamlessly integrate with UBC's current mail management configuration.
