This article describes how radiant cooling has gained popularity throughout Europe and Canada due to its ability to store and radiate thermal energy. Radiant cooling and the use of the building's thermal mass to provide off-peak cooling opportunities have been used with increasing regularity in Europe, mainly due to the much higher energy costs over there. To use this natural thermal storage feature in an occupied building, some mechanical engineering is necessary.
