Lack of visibility into the desktop computers and servers on the network made it difficult for IDG to maintain consistent software versions and security settings. Through the Dell Early Adopter Program for Microsoft Windows Server 2008, IDG implemented Dell PowerEdge 1955 servers running Microsoft Active Directory to support centralized software inventory and distribution capabilities. Dell Early Adopter Program helped IDG IT staff complete the project in half the time it would have taken IDG on its own.
