Furniture Brands needed to deliver remote access to applications and desktops for users in environments ranging from home offices to factories and distribution warehouses. It also wanted to minimize the security exposure caused by Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Furniture Brands worked with Dell Services to implement Dell PowerEdge 2950 servers running Terminal Services in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition to provide remote access without requiring a direct network connection. As a result Dell Services helped reduce implementation time by an estimated 66 percent.
