Bio-Imaging regularly transfers large medical files from site to site over its T1 frame relay network. The size and number of medical images that are transferred varies from day to day and even minute to minute. Each image file size can range from 2 to 20 MB and the number of files transferred can be 1 to 200 on any given day. Therefore, Bio-Imaging had to find a cost-effective means to increase the network capacity of its point-to-point T1 WAN, in order to facilitate faster and more secure transfers of its clients' critical medical images. After careful evaluation, Bio-Imaging decided to deploy Expand's Accelerator 4800s to boost the performance of its frame relay T1 lines.
