The University of Vermont School of Business Administration wanted to make it easier for students to communicate, collaborate, learn, and eventually thrive in the business world. The varied portable computers used by the undergraduate students did not facilitate note taking or organization of information. The school chose to require incoming students to standardize on Gateway M275 Tablet PCs running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and Office Professional Edition 2003. Students now integrate and organize their information in a single, searchable, sharable location using Microsoft Office OneNote 2003. Using Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services sites, students and faculty collaborate on projects, streamlining productivity and minimizing version control issues.
