Sanpaolo IMI S.P.A. is a full-service banking group that provides a range of credit and financial products and services to its customers in Italy and abroad. The group wanted to converge and integrate business critical Web applications to enable a consolidated view of data and a single view of customer and product. The challenge was to improve customer service, save costs, enhance employee productivity, and capitalize on current IT infrastructure investments. Sanpaolo IMI deployed BEA WebLogic Portal to create role-based portals: a management dashboard for financial data management, budgeting and incentives; and sales information and decision portals aimed at increasing sales effectiveness.
