Albany School in Essex county is a comprehensive school for 11-16 year olds with over 850 students and 100 staff. The school's computing department needed to review its technology infrastructure to assist teachers deliver an advanced learning environment and help its pupils learn the 21st century skills necessary for working life. The specific issues the school wanted to address were the problems of computer downtime, the potential threat of viruses to the computer network and bring a standard technology solution across the school. Albany School chose Dell for all its hardware requirements, with a range of blade servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), desktops, notebooks and handheld devices.
