This white paper demonstrates the importance of load balancing in achieving a balanced workload among two application servers and an Oracle database server that runs on the latest and most powerful IBM System p 570 in a high-water benchmark environment. This white paper is the third in a series that examine the load-balancing feature of the Citrix NetScaler Application Switch on the IBM System p platform. This white paper describes the Oracle Application Standard Benchmark (OASB) single instance using the medium-kit instance with Oracle 10gR2 (10.2.0.2.0). The earlier benchmarks used the small-kit RAC instance or the medium-kit single-instance configurations for Oracle 11i (11.5.10) E-Business Suite. This benchmark deploys two types of workloads: an OLTP workload and two batch workloads.
