Britannic found their remote access system too slow and costly. Remote workers used a dial-up connection, which the company had been using for around six years. Britannic was looking for a cost-effective and secure way for their 1,300 staff to access corporate applications and data from home. Britannic met Eurodata Systems at the Info-security exhibition, where Eurodata's consultants recommended Whale's e-Gap SSL VPN as being the most suitable solution for their needs. The IT team at Britannic decided to evaluate two other products alongside Whale's SSL VPN, namely PortWise and AppGate, with representatives for each solution demonstrating to Britannic their respective capabilities, functionality and benefits.
