Calpine is growing rapidly. Many workflows implemented when Calpine was smaller are no longer suitable for day-to-day operations. Calpine deployed an employee self-service portal to provide employees and managers with access to HR materials and company news, and a dashboard that presents operational and business data in an easy to use portal. The employee portal has accelerated the delivery of key reports to plant managers from six days to real time. It has saved Calpine over $60,000 per year by eliminating the manual compilation and distribution of the reports.
