This paper provides a conceptual framework for creating a backup-and-disaster recovery plan (also known as a Service Continuity Management plan) for the SAS solution. It covers often-overlooked subtleties in backing up the SAS Metadata Repository, the WebDAV repository, and the associated configuration files, as well as ensures synchronization of the pieces that are required to work together. The paper will help administrators avoid the common pitfalls and ensure that their site is able to be up and running as soon as possible in the event of small or large disasters.
