Leading French retail distributor and business-to-business telecommunications solutions provider, SFD is 49 per cent owned by (VODAFONE Partner in France). To manage their streams, SFD decided to completely change the way it analyses business data, and also consolidate its data views into a single data warehouse solution based on Microsoft SQL Server 2005. To ensure efficient access to the warehouse, which would be the cornerstone of the company's data management, and create adequate storage for its data, SFD turned to Dell. For its 270 stores, SFD selected Dell OptiPlex desktops. To run SQL Server 2005, the company decided to install Dell PowerEdge 6850 rack servers and New Dell PowerEdge 1855 blade servers now run SFD's back office systems.
