To help ensure a positive and consistent customer experience and keep loyal renters coming back time and again, Avis Budget's technology team implemented a new infrastructure to support all customer contact channels-call centers, airport rental counters, standalone facilities, and the Internet. The infrastructure, known as OMEGA (One Merged Enterprise & Global Architecture), is a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Their investment in OMEGA and the apps that run on top of it is intended to enhance their strong competitive position. They wanted a flexible business platform that enables them to turn innovative ideas into reality quickly and reliably. OMEGA turned to a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) built on BEA technology which enables the company to bring innovative services to market faster, increase flexibility and responsiveness, and expand marketing initiatives.
