The Universidad de los Andes (University of the Andes) wanted to consolidate information systems in a single, reliable, flexible, and scalable database and automate and standardize operations to attract and retain students and have better access to faculty. The challenge was to make management of academic processes easier for students and graduates to improve operating efficiency and accelerate processing of administrative paperwork to improve services and levels of satisfaction. University of the Andes worked with Oracle Consulting and Itis Support, Ltda. to establish a flexible and scalable IT infrastructure as well as consolidated university information in a single, secure database with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition.
