One of the few certainties in business today is the ever-increasing growth of data and the persistent demand for storage resources. The amount of data accumulating in many organizations is far outpacing storage capacity. As a result, IT departments are increasingly burdened with mounting storage management duties, longer backup windows and rising storage costs. In fact, analysts now estimate that for every dollar spent acquiring storage capacity as much as five dollars is spent managing it. File lifecycle management is a combination of managing storage and data as it is created and stored and what to do with that data once it's at rest. File Lifecycle Management allows companies to more efficiently store, manage and discover critical business information while lowering costs and simplifying management.
