Accessing Databases From IBM Tivoli NetView for z/OS Using JDBC

IBM Tivoli NetView for z/OS can participate in the TCP/IP protocol using the NetView SOCKET command, and can execute commands in the z/OS UNIX System Services (USS) environment. These capabilities can be used to give NetView access to any database with a Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) driver. This paper will provide examples of using either NetView USS integration or NetView SOCKET commands to carry out this task.
