Component-based development allows higher productivity, but because of the too-fine granularity of the components used and their explicit assembling, one can end up with additional underlying issues. In this paper, one is introduced to product-line engineering and learn to apply similar principles in an agile way to the architecture. It presents the underlying architecture of a repository-based environment that describes extensible high-level component configurations mapped at run time to concrete components.
