The largest bank in Denmark, Danske Bank and its subsidiaries offer banking, insurance, mortgage, residence sales and capital services. Danske Bank decided to look for a telephony solution leveraging modern Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology that would not only save costs, but also support its expansion strategy. Teaming with IBM Alliance Partner Nortel, IBM Global Technology Services - Worldwide Strategic Outsourcing implemented a VoIP telephony solution that provides a unified telephony standard for the client at all of its locations and takes full advantage of IP technology. Beginning with the client's Copenhagen headquarters, the IBM and Nortel teams implemented the solution using Nortel Optical Multiservice Edge 1000 equipment and Nortel IP Phone 2004 deskset.
