The powerful new technology of the IBM System x product line, based on the latest Intel processors, combined with Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, may allow to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the ERP implementation. A combination of the latest service levels of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 and Web-Sphere Application Server 6.0 or Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 provides a stable foundation for deploying these mission critical applications. This paper reviews sizing and performance tests performed at the IBM Oracle International Competency Center. In addition, tuning recommendations are provided for WebSphere 6.0, Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2, IBM HTTP Server, Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, SQL Server 2005 database (both 32-bit and 64-bit) as well as Oracle 10g database.
