Investors in securities markets want to know that their order will be executed in a timely fashion at the best possible price and that the product will be delivered on time, at the agreed upon terms. They need to be assured that they will not lose their investment because of insolvency, mismanagement or operational difficulties at the financial institution. Financial institutions need to be able to demonstrate to their customers that the institution is acting on behalf of its customers when fulfilling their orders and that the customer is assured of best execution within the parameters agreed with the financial institution.
