If all backup media will fail, what is so special about offsite backup? At the very least, offsite backup is a second copy. If a specialist company is chosen then much more is expected. After all, an individual could just do a second manual backup himself or herself and take the data each day. However, the data leaving office in the briefcase poses a substantial risk. Online backup uses bank level encryption to protect it. Specialist online backup companies will provide version management and multiple data copies. This dramatically reduces risk and expected downtime. Reputable online backup companies will also provide with a data receipt every time the backup completes.
