Portal and CRM Solution Reaches Tourists Directly, Responds to Fast-Changing Trends

The Portuguese government launched a tourism portal to help support its tourism-promotion strategy and improve the brand vitality of Portugal as a tourist destination. Developed in partnership with Accenture and CapGemini, and standardized on Microsoft Windows Server System, the portal provides customized and dynamic tourist information and services directly to the individual in a variety of languages. Supported by a data warehouse and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution, and integrated with a European contact center, the full solution enables the Institute of Tourism to reach niche markets and show Portugal as a more varied country than its traditional image of a beach holiday destination.
