This paper offers a concise description of how the Windows architecture handles multilingual data, the significance of this architecture to embedded developers, and the overall benefits associated with a Multilingual User Interface-based localization strategy. The issues addressed in this paper are relevant to both Windows XP and Windows XP Embedded, since the embedded version of the Operating System (OS) is based on the same binaries as the desktop version.
