Kane County is the fourth-largest County in Illinois and one of the fastest growing in the United States. In budget-constrained environment, Kane County wanted to upgrade old technology; increase application and data availability; consolidate servers and reduce server headcount; cut costs on HVAC, power, space; improve support without increasing staff. As a solution the county used PS300Es in primary and remote data centers and VMware ESX Server, consolidated 84 servers down to 6, saved over 50% in hardware, power, space, and HVAC costs.
