Microsoft needed to make customer data stored in Seibel customer relationship management and other line-of-business systems easier for salespeople to access and update so that they could spend less time managing information and more time in front of customers. The company built an Office Business Application that provides access to data in Siebel, Clarity, and a revenue reporting database through Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
