Knaack Manufacturing Company, established in 1961, is a leading manufacturer of job site storage equipment and weatherguard truck and van equipment. In early 1999, Knaack decided they wanted to give their workers mobility within the shop floor while providing access to ERP data running on their host HP 9000 system. Once the company decided that a wireless mobile device running Windows CE would best meet their needs, the next step was finding the right hardware and connectivity software package. Knaack found Pericom Software, Inc.'s teemtalk for Windows CE answered all their needs. The company purchased Hewlett Packard Jornada handheld PCs running Microsoft Windows CE and installed Proxim's RangeLan2 7401 wireless network adapter cards.
