Husky Injection Molding Systems, a leading manufacturer of injection molding equipment for the plastics industry, has offices spread across four continents, making collaboration difficult and expensive for its IT staff. Staff members experienced delays in resolving issues if they needed help from colleagues in different time zones. Video conferencing was feasible only if employees were connected to the company network, and traveling to discuss issues in person was costly. To address those issues, Husky installed Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Office Communicator 2007 with help from Microsoft Gold Certified Partner MTS Allstream. By using the solution's instant messaging and audio- and videoconferencing capabilities, the IT staff can now communicate more quickly and effectively, thereby enhancing customer service.
