To streamline collaboration and reduce the cost of maintaining Private Branch Exchange (PBX) telephony infrastructure locally, AstraZeneca has deployed a pilot based on Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, Office Communicator 2007, and Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging. The software makes it possible for employees to see if colleagues are available using presence and contact them in real time using instant messages, voice calls, or conferences.
