London Underground is the world's oldest and most complex subway rail network, with 500 trains running at peak hours. Last year, it carried more than 976 million passengers. London Underground Limited (LUL) was formed in 1985, but dates back to 1863. LUL investigated new technologies for its GUI strategy and concluded that Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) was the most suitable technology.
