With a British engineering heritage that dates back to the turn of the twentieth century, Dennis Eagle manufactures refuse collection trucks and is the only company in Europe to design and build both cab chassis and waste handling body, the two elements together creating a particularly well tuned vehicle. Dennis Eagle wanted to respond to increasing price sensitivity. The challenge was to design and build quickly to exact customer requirements. The company created family products based on one standard design methodology. They integrated finite element analysis into design process and prepared jig and tool work earlier in process. They also improved strain predictions and set up quicker channels of communication with suppliers.
