Derbyshire Building Society is a UK top 10 building society. It is one of the remaining truly mutual building societies; the company slogan is "Local Matters". Derbyshire's existing core customer administration system was approximately fifteen years old and hosted on a proprietary mainframe. The decision was taken to undertake a complete redevelopment of the existing system to provide increased flexibility and future proofing. AppLabs was contracted separately to provide a structured testing approach to the program and take ownership of acceptance testing of the new systems. AppLabs provided additional consultancy support at Test Management and Test Analyst levels, complemented by specialist consultancy for performance testing.
