In 2005, a New York hospital received a donation of PCs to be used in a media room for the benefit of children patients. However, the hospital lacked the IT staff to directly monitor and manage the PCs to make sure they complied with security and usage policies. The hospital sought help from FullArmor, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner with expertise in Group Policy management. FullArmor created PolicyPortal, an application based on the Active Directory service in Microsoft Windows Server 2003. PolicyPortal provides remotely hosted Active Directory services and Group Policy enforcement, which automates much of the management and security that the PCs require. This solution also helps prevent users from making unauthorized configuration changes and accessing unauthorized content.
