This paper provides an overview of the Pocket Portal mobile application authoring, billing and distribution system and the range of applications and application features. Pocket Portal consists of Application Authoring System that provides an easy to use web interface to design and create mobile applications for the majority of handsets in the market. Pocket Portal builds Java and Symbian stand-alone applications containing the browser core and author defined packaged content. Content delivery to the handset is also available from Amplefuture, but Pocket Portal provides direct access to all the generated Java and Symbian installation packages as well.
