Level 3 Communications lacked a centralized repository and consistent way to track dependencies throughout its project management process, resulting in schedule delays as it worked to bring new products and services to market. After a successful proof-of-concept study dealing with its mergers and acquisitions projects, Level 3 implemented a pilot of the Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management Solution for its Voice Product Development & Delivery Team. Now the organization can track issues and dependencies across multiple work groups, so team members and project managers have a better understanding of their tasks in relation to the organization's projects as a whole.
